Feb 16/2025 - LUDVIG ÅBERG delivered a comeback for the ages at The Genesis Invitational, storming through the back nine at Torrey Pines to claim his second PGA TOUR victory. Trailing by four shots after the 12th hole, the young Swede flipped the script with a clutch performance, birdieing four of his final six holes—13, 14 and 15, then an incredible knee-knocking 7-footer on 18—to edge out MAVERICK MCNEALY by one stroke.

This win is even sweeter considering ÅBERG’s last visit to Torrey Pines—just three weeks ago, he was battling illness and struggling to finish. Now, he leaves with a trophy, a $4 million payday, and a boost to No. 4 in the world rankings.

• This was ÅBERG’s 2nd PGA Tour Victory in only his 40th start at the age of 25 years, 3 months, 17 days

• ÅBERG helped his score by recording a hole-in-one in the third round - the first of his TOUR career.  He joins RORY MCILROY as both have recorded an ace in a event that they went on to win

• Being from Sweden...this marks 7 different countries to win the first 7 events of the year.  Way to spread the wealth!

• 2 players tied for most birdies this week...runner up MAVERICK MCNEALY and T5 place, TONY FINAU, each recording 20 birdies.

• While attending Texas Tech University, Åberg became the first golfer to win back-to-back Big 12 Conference Championship titles in 2022 and 2023

• In 2023, Åberg became the first player ever to participate in the Ryder Cup without having played in a major championship

• Åberg was introduced to golf at the age of eight by his father, who encouraged him to play with the promise of ice cream for spending extra time on the course.

• Before golf, he pursued soccer and is now a Liverpool FC fan
