Harris English Tames the Wind and Torrey Pines for a Thrilling One-Shot Victory

HARRIS ENGLISH snagged the win at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, just narrowly edging out a determined SAM STEVENS for a thrilling one-shot triumph at Torrey Pines! It wasn’t easy, though—English had to tackle some pretty gnarly wind conditions and wrapped up his final round with a 1-over 73, showing plenty of grit and calmness all the way to the finish line. The final round kicked off with a bit of a rough patch for ENGLISH, who stumbled with two early bogeys as the winds whipped all around him. But instead of letting it get to him, English found his groove and finished strong with an impressive 12 straight pars, sealing the deal on his victory. Meanwhile, STEVENS, who was playing six groups ahead, put up a score that had everyone buzzing, almost sneaking in to steal the lead. However, English stayed cool under pressure to clinch the title.  In the end, it was ENGLISH's knack for dealing with tough conditions and keeping his game steady that made all the difference. He walked away with a well-earned victory!

• Talk about being patient - ENGLISH went a span of 1,308 days since his last victory back in 2021

• He became just the 3rd player in this tournaments history to record an over-par final round, but still go on to win.  The other 2?  JOHN DALY (2004) and JACK NICKLAUS himself (1973).
