5 Fun Golfer Facts about Rory McIlroy and his win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

McIlroy Drives His Way to a Win at Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Feb 2/2025 - Rory McIlroy kicked off his 2025 PGA TOUR season in style, capturing his 27th career victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.  McIlroy started Sunday trailing by a stroke but stayed in the hunt all day. The turning point? A monstrous eagle on the par-5 14th. He launched a 336-yard drive (no big deal), then stuck a 7-iron to 26 feet, draining the putt to take control. He followed it up with a clutch birdie on 15 and coasted home with three steady pars.  Speaking of driving distance, McIlroy's driver was booming, leading the field at 336.7 yards per drive—a crazy 17 yards longer than second-place golfer. But it wasn’t just power that got him the win. He also ranked 7th in Strokes Gained: Putting, proving he had the full package this week.
