May 11 2025 - SEPP STRAKA turned Philly pressure into a putting clinic and walked away with the 2025 Truist Championship title, finishing at 16-under-par and notching his second win of the season.
In a dramatic final stretch at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, it was a back-nine battle between STRAKA and SHANE LOWRY. The two were neck-and-neck until the 16th hole, where LOWRY missed a crucial six-foot par putt. STRAKA calmly saved par, grabbed the lead, and never let go.
The real difference? STRAKA'S putter was red-hot—he drained over 110 feet worth of putts on Sunday, making up for some shaky ball-striking. His nerves held on 18 too, as he rolled in a clutch two-putt par while LOWRY three-putted for bogey, squandering a chance to force a playoff. Ouch.
JUSTIN THOMAS also made a late charge with a final-round 67 but missed key birdie chances, including a shortie on 15 that could’ve changed everything. Instead, he settled for a tie with LOWRY at second place.
With the win, STRAKA climbs to No. 2 in FedExCup points, and basically books his ticket to the Ryder Cup.
