The 2025 American Express concluded with SEPP STRAKA clinching a hard-fought victory. Starting the final round with a four-stroke lead, Straka maintained his edge against a talented field, including a strong push from JUSTIN THOMAS. Straka’s steady play and precise putting helped him finish the tournament at 25-under par, enough to hold off Thomas and claim a two-stroke victory. For 69 holes, he was on track to achieve a rare PGA Tour feat: completing a 72-hole victory without a single bogey. However, his near-flawless run unraveled slightly on the 16th hole when his second shot found the rough behind a berm, leading to his first bogey of the tournament. Staying calm, cool and collected, Straka’s composure never wavered...even after another misstep on the 18th hole, where his approach shot landed in a bunker and his par attempt narrowly missed, after which he confidently sunk a 4-foot bogey putt to seal his win.
This was STRAKA's 3rd PGA Tour Victory in his 169th start at the age of 31 years, 8 months, 18 days
The 263 score ties STRAKA's career low 72-hole total, that bogie didn't stop his win, but it would have been a career low. Somehow I think he is ok with that
JUSTIN THOMAS's 2nd place finish marks the second time in his last three starts he has finished as the runner up
TAYLOR MOORE, who finished T7 became the first player since 2021 to play 72 holes without a bogey or worse and NOT win the tournament
KRIS VENTURA became only the 3rd player to record a hole-in-one on No.13 at the Pete Dye Stadium Course as he aced the hole with an exciting 6-iron shot
